We had our first group outdoor activity at the Summer Palace during the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival, followed by a group dinner at a classic Beijing mutton hotpot restaurant.

One of the students imaged that the view of the tower sitting on the West Mountain (Beijing) resembled a lasing peak emerging from a broad fluorescence spectra, which shows the 0-0, 0-1, and 0-2 vibronic peaks of organic materials. Interestingly, the lasing emission seemed to originate from the 0-1 peak, which coincidentally aligns with the experimental observation from our study. What a fantastic analogy!
